MEMBERSHIP

The VRC offers membership in the Rowing, Rugby, Field Hockey, and Yachting sections as well as Social membership. Members participate in or support their sport of choice and are also entitled to use the gym during operating hours. Please note non-members are not permitted in the club's fitness facilities. Members are also invited to attend the member bar in the Carver Room, and may bring up to four guests with them to enjoy dinner or drinks on one of the city's best patios (members must register all guests with bar staff). Sections host a variety of social and sport related events throughout the year. One such event is the Intersectional Regatta, with the Rowing section coaching particpants from each of the other sections to compete for the coveted Intersectional Oar Trophy.

VRC membership dues are comprised of two main components

  • Club Dues which are set by the Board of Directors and apply equally to all members. These dues entitle members to access the gym, showers and member bar.

  • Section Dues which are set by the individual sporting section executives. These dues entitle members to participate in section sporting programs and events.

SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP

VRC offers social membership to walkers, joggers and runners who enjoy the trails and seawall just steps from our clubhouse in Stanley Park. Social members are welcome to utilize the club's member bar and gym facility. Social members are not directly affiliated with any sporting section and are not entitled to vote at club meetings. The club is currently accepting social membership applications. Social membership renews October 1st, dues will be pro-rated upon approval of application. FIELD HOCKEY

VRC Jokers welcome players of all skill levels from novice to Olympic calibre.  With teams in a range of divisions in the mens and womens hockey leagues and an international touring section the Jokers take pride in their combination of social and competetive hockey.  Click here for more information about Field Hockey membership. 

ROWING

The founding sport of the Vancouver Rowing Club continues it's tradition of athletic excellence.  The VRC celebrates an impressive international record, placing athletes on Canada's Olympic, PanAmerican and Commonwealth Games teams.  To apply for rowing membership you must have rowing experience or have completed a Learn-to-Row program.  Applicants must be approved by the rowing section Vice Captain - Membership, click here to inquire about rowing membership. 

RUGBY

VRC fielded its first rugby team in 1908, a group of rowers wanting competition in the off season.  Currently, two senior mens' teams and one womens' team compete in local league rivalry.  Join the VRC Rowers, former BC Provincial Champions, and tour wherever fine rugby is found. Rugby members must register and pay their BCRugby fees online AND register and pay VRC dues online.

YACHTING

Set sail for cruises, Summer Regatta, dockside barbecues and the Commodore's Ball.  Affiliated with major boating associations, VRC yachters compete in local and international races.  The section maintains reciprocity with other clubs, bringing boaters together from around the Pacific Northwest and the world.   Click here for more information

Applications for a renewal of membership/moorage indicates you have read, understand & agree to the club's Constitution, Bylaws and Rules & Regulations.
